Police suspect foul play in death of T-Poly lecturer

Pathologists are to conduct an autopsy on the body of a Takoradi Polytechnic lecturer, who was suspected to have been killed by a train at Kojokrom in Takoradi at the weekend.

According to the police, their initial investigations point to foul play and that they suspect he was murdered and dumped on the railway line to be dismembered by a passing train.

The mutilated body of Seth Dogbe was found on a railway line over the weekend at Kojokrom in the Western regional capital of Takoradi.

Earlier reports suggested he was killed by a train whilst crossing the railway line but police have said they suspect foul play.

The body has since been handed over to pathologists to ascertain the cause of death.

According to police sources, if indeed he was killed by the train they could have seen blood spilled at the scene but their initial examination of the scene did not yield anything like that.

There were some deep cuts on the body and his intestines had gushed out when he was found.

Police are still investigating.

His colleague lecturers at the Department of Applied Arts at the polytechnic have said they are devastated and deflated by the development.

They described him as a nice person to be with socially and that he was someone who was very meticulous with his work, quiet and withdrawn.

They said he was one of the finest water colour painters they have had in their generation.

One of the colleagues said he last saw him on Friday at the Applied Arts block on campus.
